Levi 's enter into development agreement for CRAiLAR flax fibre
Naturally Advanced Technologies Inc. (NAT) has announced it has entered into a short term CRAiLAR Flax fibre development agreement with Levi Strauss & Co. Commencing April 2011 to support evaluation of processing CRAiLAR flax fibre in woven casual apparel products, specifically denim and non-denim, bottom and top weight fabrics.

Study shows Dryarn offers high thermo-physiological comfort
A recent study performed by the LATT laboratory in Biella, Italy is said to have shown that Aquafil Spa’s Dryarn, an innovative polypropylene micro fibre designed for high performance materials for underwear, sportswear and special technical applications even under extreme conditions, is superior to the other fibres analysed in terms of thermo-regulation, breathability and drying speed.

New OEKO-TEX test criteria become mandatory on 1st April
The new test criteria for product certification under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 which were published by the International OEKO-TEX association at the beginning of the year became mandatory for all certification processes on 1 April, when the three-month transitional period comes to an end.

TenCate secures Italian order for Defender M fabric

DSM Dyneema has formed a partnership with gruschwitz gmbh Tech-Twists in which they become a Premium Distribution Partner for UHMWPE fibre manufactured by DSM Dyneema. The new agreement becomes effective 1 April 2011 and is specific to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia – Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.
