Techtextil extends lead as innovation powerhouse
Techtextil, the world’s primary event for generating business between manufacturers and users of technical textiles and nonwovens has extended its industry leading position with more than 24,500 visitors from 96 countries attending last month’s Techtextil 2011 in Frankfurt. Visitors saw a host of innovations presented by 1207 exhibitors from 50 countries.

Outlast polyester wins Techtextil Innovation Prize
Outlast, the pioneer and market leader in temperature regulation phase change materials (PCM) impressed the international jury of Techtextil last month winning the Techtextil Innovation Prize 2011 in the New Materials category for the development of the world’s first heat managing polyester fibre with PCM. To date Outlast’s phase change materials have been available in textile fibres such as viscose and acrylic but not polyester.
NWtexnet into Europe
Now a privately owned business following the ending of its contract with England’s North West Development Agency, technical textiles cluster organisation NWtexnet held a breakfast briefing session for the region’s industry on Wednesday June 1st 2011 in Bolton.

There are no figures available from show organiser Messe Frankfurt to confirm this as yet, but there are many signs that the economy in Russia is currently very favourable for major technical textile markets – if only anyone quite knew how to get in.”
